Making the Best of Computers and Phones

Step out of the box and do something truly interesting and creative with your computer or phone.

Once you move into the world of technology, the basic opportunities are pretty clearly laid out for you. You can connect to your friends on Facebook. You can make a statement on Twitter. These things are okay, everyone does them, but I want to encourage you to do more.

Our devices are incredibly powerful. If you put your mind to it, you can find some very satisfying projects to do. Just for you. Why? Because exerting this kind of creating effort makes your life more satisfying.

Write a short story in Microsoft Word, Apple Pages, or Google Docs. Make a work of art in Apple Photos, Adobe Photoshop, or Pixelmator. Write a song in Garage Band. It doesn't have to great, but it can be fun for you. You don't have to share it with anyone if you don't want to. Then you've done something important to you, and you can feel good about that.
