Bring Some 1980s Charm to your Modern Computers and Devices

Keeping a creative and explorative point of view makes a computer more enjoyable.

The 1980s were the golden age of computers. Between the Apple II, the Commodore 64, the Macintosh and the Amiga, nerds were always on the verge of having all their fantasies come true. It was like the first moon landing for computers, and only nerds were invited, but it was good party.

Now we buy devices, then we buy apps, the we go to the Facebook App, then we're the same off as we were before. There's a solution to this humdrum: creativity. Stop seeing your device as an app machine. Stop worrying about social media and start thinking about yourself. Do something interesting to you and only for you. Write an essay. Make some art. For use nerds, do some actual software development.

Don't do it so you can post on Facebook, do it for fun. Do it for your own happiness. It takes some work to remember that our devices do all these fun things, but once done, your world gets more interesting.
