Today I updated a major piece of software. It was Parallels Desktop 15 on MacOS. It went relatively well, but then I tried up update Windows 10 and it crashed my Mac.
This is the type of thing that happens with virtualization software. Parallels is better than the others, but it is still not perfect. But I made a mistake. I did the upgrade in the morning, at it totally affected my productivity.
I decided from now on I will only upgrade software in the evening after working hours. My most productive hours are the first half of the day, and as I've gotten older it has become very clear that I have to protect them.
